I've just found a very cool site. It is the The Breast Cancer Site. Go to the site and in the middle of the page is a pink rectangle that says, "click here". For your click, the corporate sponsors to the site give free mamograms to women who can't afford them. Your click doesn't cost you anything and it may save a life. make it a habit to click every day! God Bless!

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Things are going so well and we have been very busy.
Radiation is going well. My skin is red and broke out but it does not hurt just itches some.
Tomorrow is my last full radiation treatment. Then I will have 5 to treat the scar then I am through.

I am scheduled for surgery to remove the port on Aug. 26. It is day surgery and I will be good to go the next day. Then I hope I won't have to see another Dr. in a long time.

Thank you for your support and prayers. I will post and let everyone know how the surgery went.

More good news. Dr. Robertson says I can have my port taken out. Don't know just when I can get it scheduled with my surgeon. I gave her a call today.

Radiation is going well. I had treatment number 16 today, only 14 more to go.

A good friend of mine, Claudia Bragg, died this week after a long battle with cancer. When I had my last chemo treatment in June she was there and we talked a long time. Please pray for her family.

We spent last weekend at the lake with our neighbors and good friends Diane & Phil King and had a really good time. I got some sun on Sat. so I didn't go out much on Sunday. D.J. my little 6 year old grandson learned to knee board. Sarah Beth my 4 year old grandaugter would only get in the water if I did. So we had fun on a float. Can't you just see me now........ Long pants, long sleve shirt, no hair and having the time of my life on a float with my Grandaughter. I didn't wear my wig all weekend. I went walking two days to train for my 60 mile walk in Sept. I cherish each moment I spend with my little ones.

Taylor my 2 year old grandson is moving to Statesboro with his Mom and Dad. Kelley is going back to school for her Masters at Georgia Southern. They should be moving the middle of August. Can't wait to get him here.

Tucker my 9 month old and his Mom and Dad is coming Thursday for the weekend. He has 2 teeth and is crawling everywhere. I better baby proof my house before he gets here.

They all love their Nana "B" even with no hair but, not as much as I love them.

Vavoom where are you? It gives me comfort to know you are there.

We just arrived home for Atlanta this afternoon. I couldn’t wait to post. My PET scan showed no militancy in my liver, the Dr. said they were just cysts. Dr. Saba says there is no reason to do a biopsy of the liver. I have been so thankful all the way home and will be for the rest of my life. God has been good to me in more ways than one. The scan was uneventful and caused no problems. I had to drinks some thick liquid and they injected me with a clear liquid. Emory Hospital was great. Wait time was nil and even took us early on one occasion. Everyone was nice, friendly and helpful. Friday night after the scan I started having chills and fever. Sunday morning I had to call my Dr. in Statesboro and he prescribed an antibiotic. I had a sore throat and the glands in my neck were really sore. I am feeling much better now.

Radiation treatment # 9 was today. Tomorrow will be 10 and I will be 1/3 finished. My hair is growing but not fast enough. I have an appt. with my Oncologist on Friday and plan to inquire when we can remove the port.

We spent one night with each of the children this weekend and had a good time. Tomorrow it is back to work. School is starting Aug. 3rd and I have a lot to do.

More later………..

My trip to Emory University was a very fruitful visit. Dr. Saba agreed with me that a full body scan (PET) was the right thing to do. He and I agreed that since I am being treated for cancer close to my liver I should have it checked out. My Doctors here wanted to take a wait and see attitude and do another upper abdominal scan in 3 to 4 months. I am going back to Emory on Friday for the PET at 1:00 p.m. We will stay with the children until Monday then go back to Doctor Saba for the results of the scan. At that time we will talk about a liver biopsy. If this is what it takes to rule out cancer of the liver I am ready and willing. I liked Dr. Saba very much it seemed that he had looked over all my records and knew more about me than I probably know. He thought my treatment by the other Doctors up until this point was splendid and what he would have done if he were my Dr.

This week I will have radiation everyday until Friday then I will be gone to Emory. I have had no side effects from the radiation so far.

My grandson D.J. is staying with us this week. He and Papa T are going to get the tractor and plow the cane at the farm. Tomorrow if it is not raining they are going fishing. D.J. and I went to see Herbie yesterday. It was a fun movie. One night this week we are going to rent the movie “Herbie the Love Bug” and watch it. He is getting good at driving the golf cart. We only let him drive when we are riding with him. He will be 6 on July 22 and I can hardly believe how the time has flown since he was born.
